The  project is located on Prices Fork Road in the historic village of Prices Fork just outside of Blacksburg, a settlement dating back to 1745. The program of this project is loosely based upon the existing Old School, a school building renovated for adaptive reuse by the non-profit organization Live, Work, Eat, Gather, whose mission is “to cultivate and nourish community through the support of local food and farms, the creation and growth of jobs, the security of a home, and the gathering of friends and neighbors.” The project examines relationships between architecture, agriculture, and food, as well as the role our built environment plays in creating a healthy community.
