AKI ISHIDA

This is a building dedicated to horticulture enthusiasts and their community in the Roanoke region. The garden club members who met weekly in their homes will now have a permanent site for their organization.  The members wish to make spaces that will not only house their meetings and gardens but also a place in which the local community can come learn about plants and socialize.

The site is an existing parking lot on Day Avenue SW and First Street SW in Downtown Roanoke. 1/3 of the site can be occupied by the building(s) and parking for 16 cars. A minimum of 1/3 will be partially covered but un-conditioned space. Finally, a minimum of 1/3 of the site will be dedicated to gardens. There are a range of gardens, from full sun, partially shaded, to shaded.
